Feb 7th @ IUETC: Impact of the America Invents Act on the Life Sciences
Attorneys from Ice Miller’s Intellectual Property Group will examine the new America Invents Act (AIA), in an attempt to provide an understanding as to how the AIA will affect life sciences and biomedical innovation. The AIA will change how scientists, doctors, and entrepreneurs need to approach patent protection. We will discuss key modifications to the current patent laws described in the AIA and the most recently proposed regulations, such as the new first-to-file rule and several new post-grant review procedures that will allow for challenges the validity of granted patents. In addition to discussing the main provisions of the AIA and the most recently proposed regulations, this presentation will examine the AIA from a life science perspective to provide insight and strategies when seeking patent protection.
Join us for this presentation, discussion, and networking event.
